Chapter 10 - The Horizon

Years later, the house was filled with the sound of music—not just the guitar, but the piano, the violin, and the voices of two children who had grown into remarkable young people.

Ethan stood on the porch, watching the sun dip below the horizon. The trees they had planted were tall now, their roots deep and strong.

Julia walked out, placing a hand on his arm. She was still the same woman, her grace and her strength unchanged.

"What are you thinking about?" she asked.

"I’m thinking about the day I came home and heard that music," Ethan said. "I thought my life was over. I thought I was just a man in a museum."

"And now?"

Ethan looked at her, his eyes warm and clear. "Now, I know my life was just beginning."

He reached out and took her hand. They stood together, watching the light change, knowing that no matter what the wind brought, they were grounded.

They were rooted.

And they were home.
