Chapter 5 – The Girl Who Changed a City

Three years passed.
Pretty was eleven now, taller but still wearing the same bright smile that had once stopped one of the city's most feared men in his tracks.
Every Saturday after school, she still walked through Jagalki Market.
The vendors no longer worried about leaking roofs or broken sidewalks.
Children played safely between the stalls, and elderly merchants rested beneath the covered seating areas that had once seemed impossible.
One afternoon, Pretty noticed a new fruit seller struggling to unload heavy crates.
Without hesitation, she rolled up her sleeves.
"I'll help."
Within minutes, several other children joined her.
An elderly vendor smiled.
"You're becoming just like your mother."
Pretty laughed.
"My mom says kindness is contagious."
Across the market, a black SUV quietly pulled to the curb.
Alex stepped out wearing a simple gray shirt instead of his usual tailored suit.
No bodyguards followed him this time.
He walked through the market unnoticed until Pretty spotted him.
"Oh," she said with a grin.
"Mr. No Home Training."
Alex laughed.
"I was hoping I'd earned a promotion."
Pretty folded her arms.
"Maybe."
"Have you been practicing?"
"I think so."
She nodded toward the struggling fruit seller.
"Then prove it."
Without another word, Alex removed his expensive watch, rolled up his sleeves, and began carrying crates beside the vendors.
People stopped to watch.
