Chapter 8 - The Price of Survival

Sebastian locked the inner doors and stood against them. He had one pistol, two magazines, and the fury of a man who had already lost his wife and refused to lose his son.
The intruders tried the door. They detonated a small charge.
Sebastian threw the door open and charged, not away from the danger, but directly into it. He dismantled them one by one, his technique fueled by pure, unadulterated protective instinct. When the last man fell, the penthouse was quiet again.
Vincent arrived seconds later, his face pale as he surveyed the carnage.

“Is he safe?” Vincent asked.
“He’s safe,” Sebastian said, sliding down the wall, his arm bleeding profusely. “But I’m done hiding. If they want this war, I’m going to lead it to their front door.”
