Chapter 10 - A New Dawn

Six months later.

The Houston skyline was no longer a grey blur. The storm had passed, leaving behind a clear, sharp horizon.

Sebastian stood on the balcony of his penthouse. The office was gone, replaced by a nursery and a study. He held Leo’s hand as they looked out over the city.

“Is it always so big?” Leo asked, his eyes reflecting the evening lights.

“It’s as big as you want it to be,” Sebastian said, picking him up.

He had retired from the Syndicate. He had liquidated his holdings and donated the remainder of his fortune to the foundation Madeline had envisioned—a place to protect those who were hunted.

He would never forget Madeline. He kept her letter on his desk, right next to a fresh photograph of the two of them.

He had spent his life being the most feared man in the city. But standing there with his son, watching the sunset, Sebastian realized that the most powerful thing he had ever done wasn't building an empire of shadows.

It was stepping out of them.

“Daddy?”

“Yes, Leo?”

“Are we ever going back to the castle in the sky?”

Sebastian looked up at the stars, then down at his son—his legacy, his heart, his reason for breathing.

“We’re already there, kid,” Sebastian whispered. “We’re already there.”
