Chapter 5 - The Reunion
The chaos broke out a second later. Sebastian didn't care. He shielded Leo with his own body, the sound of gunfire ricocheting off the metal walls. He tore the restraints from Leo’s wrists and scooped the boy into his arms.
“I’ve got you,” Sebastian whispered, his voice trembling for the first time in years.
Leo looked up at him, eyes wide and searching. “Are you the man from the stories?”
“What stories?” Sebastian asked, ducking behind a heavy crate as a bullet splintered the wood nearby.
“Mommy said my daddy was a dragon who lived in a castle in the sky.”

Sebastian felt a phantom ache in his chest. “I’m not a dragon, Leo. I’m just your father.”
With Vincent providing covering fire from the vents above, they fought their way to the extraction point. Sebastian drove the SUV through the perimeter fence, the engine screaming as they left the shipyard behind.
