Britt froze, the color draining from her face so fast she looked like a ghost in the dim light of the corridor.
"Dr. Harrison," Britt stammered, stepping back from Nora. "I... I was just correcting Nurse Vance on her charting procedures. She's been neglecting her other duties to focus solely on the Admiral."
The Admiral didn't need to hear her. He looked at Nora, pointing to the pocket of her scrub top where the syringe was hidden.
Nora pulled the syringe out, holding it up for Dr. Harrison and the naval officers to see.
"This was given to me by Carla Mintz," Nora said, her voice clear and steady. "She claimed it was Ancef. But I noticed the discoloration. I suspect it contains a high concentration of potassium chloride—an additive that, if injected directly into an IV, would cause an immediate, untraceable cardiac arrest in a post-op patient."

"That’s a lie!" Britt screamed, her professional facade completely shattering. "She’s trying to frame us! She’s been obsessed with this patient since he arrived!"
Dr. Harrison stepped forward, taking the syringe from Nora’s hand with a gloved finger. "Actually, Nurse Holloway, we don't need to guess. The military police have already searched your locker. They found three cases of unaccounted military-grade fentanyl, along with the digital logs linking your personal computer to the unauthorized modifications of the Admiral's files."
