Chapter 10 - The Architecture of Us

Six months later, the penthouse suite on the forty-fifth floor of Moretti Tower looked entirely different.

The cold, minimalist obsidian-and-chrome decor had been warmed by soft lighting, tall green plants, and books stacked neatly on every available surface.

At the main executive desk, Sienna Brooks—now officially chief financial officer and managing partner of Moretti Holdings—was reviewing the mid-year audit reports. The ledgers were clean, balanced, and bulletproof. The Bratva had retreated back across the Atlantic, the harbor unions were fully stabilized, and the family empire was operating with unprecedented legitimacy.

The private elevator chime chimed softly.

Dawson walked into the office carrying two steaming cups of coffee from a small local diner down in Pilsen—the exact same bitter, burnt brew she used to pour him on the night everything changed.

He set one cup down on her desk, leaned his hips against the edge of the glass, and looked down at her with a warm, completely unguarded smile.

"You know," Dawson said, raising his mug in a silent toast, "my grandfather still tells everyone that you're the only person in Chicago with more backbone than him."

Sienna picked up her coffee, taking a slow sip before looking up at him with a wicked, playful gleam in her eye.

"Tell your grandfather he's right," she replied smoothly, leaning back in her leather chair. "And if you ever act like a toddler throwing a tantrum again, I'm upgrading from ice water to boiling oil."

Dawson laughed—a rich, genuine sound that echoed through the penthouse—and pulled her up into his arms, kissing her deeply as the city of Chicago hummed peacefully beneath them.

She had started her journey with a bucket of ice and a survival instinct. Now, she held the heart of the most dangerous man in the city—and together, they had built an empire that nothing in this world could ever break again.
