Chapter 3: The Trap Closes

The tunnel led beneath the mansion.
Emma crawled through darkness until she reached a steel door.
Waiting on the other side were two armed security officers.
“Miss Emma,” one said. “Your father sent us.”
For the first time all night, Emma felt safe.
Meanwhile, above ground, the robbery continued.
Victoria smiled confidently in the security room.
Everything was going according to plan.
Or so she thought.
Then every monitor suddenly went black.
Seconds later, a new image appeared.
It was Emma’s father.
Live.
Standing inside a command center surrounded by investigators.
Victoria’s smile disappeared.
“Good evening,” he said calmly. “Thank you for confessing on camera.”
The room froze.
“What?”
Behind him appeared dozens of recorded clips.
Victoria giving orders.
Richard transferring stolen money.
The thieves discussing fake contracts and shell companies.
Every crime.
Every lie.
Every betrayal.
The hidden cameras had captured everything.
Police sirens erupted outside.
Victoria rushed toward the exit.

Too late.
Federal agents stormed the mansion from every entrance.
Within minutes, handcuffs clicked around wrists.
Richard collapsed into a chair.
Victoria stared at the monitors in horror.
“You set me up.”

Emma’s father nodded.
“No. I gave you the chance to stop.”
