CHAPTER 3: THE FALL OF THE SERRANO FAMILY

Within minutes, Rafael personally walked into the backyard.

The moment he saw his daughter tied beneath the tree, his jaw tightened.

He didn't shout.

He didn't threaten.

That frightened everyone even more.

He simply walked forward and untied her himself.

“Dad...” Renata whispered.

Rafael gently touched her burned face.

“You should have called me sooner.”

Tears filled her eyes.

“I wanted to solve it myself.”

“You already did.”

Behind them, Amalia suddenly found her voice.

“This is all a misunderstanding.”

Rafael slowly turned.

“No.”

His voice was calm.

“This is a crime.”

The lawyers immediately presented documents.

Security footage.

Witness statements from employees.

Medical reports.

Photos.

Everything.

Tomasa had secretly recorded much of the abuse.

Every insult.

Every threat.

Every attempt to force Renata to sign away her apartment.

The evidence was overwhelming.

Then came the final blow.

One of Rafael's attorneys placed another file on the table.

Inside were financial records.

For years, Renata had secretly invested millions into Julián's struggling company.

Without her money, the business would have collapsed.

The Serranos had been surviving because of the woman they constantly mocked.

Julián looked sick.

“You... saved the company?”

Renata nodded.

“Three times.”

The shame on his face was impossible to hide.

But it was far too late.

The lawyers informed the family that multiple lawsuits would be filed before sunset.

Amalia's hands began shaking.

For the first time in years, she looked afraid.
