CHAPTER 2: THE ARRIVAL OF RAFAEL ARRIAGA

Twenty minutes after the call was disconnected, the atmosphere inside the Serrano mansion changed.

At first, nobody noticed.

Then the security guard at the front gate called the house.

His voice was trembling.

“Mrs. Serrano... there are vehicles outside.”

Amalia rolled her eyes.

“What kind of vehicles?”

“Six black SUVs.”

The room fell silent.

Paulina looked up from her paperwork.

Julián frowned.

Before anyone could respond, another call came.

“Mrs. Serrano... more vehicles are arriving.”

A minute later, the front gates opened.

One after another, luxury SUVs entered the property.

Men in dark suits stepped out.

Not bodyguards.

Professionals.

Lawyers.

Executives.

Security personnel.

The servants gathered near the windows, whispering nervously.

Then a silver Rolls-Royce slowly pulled into the circular driveway.

The rear door opened.

An older man stepped out.

Tall.

Elegant.

Gray-haired.

His expression was calm, but his eyes were cold enough to freeze the air.

Renata recognized him immediately.

Her father.

Rafael Arriaga.

One of the wealthiest real estate investors in Latin America.

The man she had spent years avoiding public association with.

The man she had deliberately kept secret from the Serrano family.

Amalia laughed nervously.

“This is ridiculous.”

But her confidence disappeared when three attorneys entered the house carrying briefcases.

“Mrs. Amalia Serrano?”

“Yes?”

“You are being formally notified that the unlawful detention, physical abuse, and coercion of Ms. Renata Arriaga have been documented.”

The color vanished from Amalia's face.

“Arriaga?”

The lawyer nodded.

“Renata Arriaga. Sole heir to the Arriaga Group.”

Paulina nearly dropped the folder.

Julián stood frozen.

For the first time, they realized they had absolutely no idea who Renata really was.
