Chapter 4 - A Family Worth Fighting ForEight months later, laughter filled the Thorne estate.

A healthy baby boy crawled across the living room carpet.

His name was Gabriel.

Marcus watched as Khloe laughed, chasing their son with a stuffed elephant.

The scars across her side remained.

But they no longer represented fear.

They represented survival.

One afternoon, they visited the hospital to thank the doctors.

Gabriel reached toward Dr. Carter with both tiny hands.

Samuel laughed.

"I think he's forgotten who saved him."

Marcus smiled.

"No."

"I think he remembers."

Later that evening, Marcus and Khloe stood together on the terrace overlooking the city.

The sunset painted the skyline gold.

Khloe rested her head against his shoulder.

"Do you ever think about that night?"

Marcus nodded.

"Every day."

"And?"

He looked down at Gabriel sleeping peacefully in his mother's arms.

"I remember that evil only wins when good people stay silent."

He gently kissed Khloe's forehead.

"I almost lost everything that mattered."

She smiled softly.

"But you didn't."

"No."

"Because the truth had witnesses."

As evening settled over the city, the mansion no longer felt like a symbol of wealth.

It felt like a home.

Marcus finally understood that his greatest fortune had never been measured in buildings, investments, or headlines.

It was the family standing beside him.

The family he had nearly lost.

And from that day forward, Gabriel grew up hearing one lesson his parents never allowed him to forget:

Strength is not found in power, money, or influence.

It is found in protecting those you love, telling the truth when it is hardest, and never allowing cruelty to hide behind privilege.

Because justice may not arrive immediately...

But when truth is preserved, it always finds its way into the light.
