CHAPTER 4 – A NEW BEGINNING

Three months later.

The mansion belonged to the Blackwood Trust once again.

The Blake family had moved into a modest rental home after declaring bankruptcy.

Adrian was facing criminal charges for domestic assault.

The divorce had been finalized in less than ninety days.

I never asked for revenge.

Only justice.

One sunny afternoon, I visited my grandfather's memorial garden.

Fresh roses surrounded the stone.

Margaret joined me quietly.

"Any regrets?"

I smiled.

"For years I thought kindness meant endurance."

"I finally learned kindness without self-respect becomes permission."

She nodded.

"I think your grandfather would be proud."

I looked toward the sunrise.

"I hope so."

A week later, I opened the Blackwood Foundation for Women.

The first project offered legal aid, emergency housing, and financial education for survivors of domestic abuse.

The very first woman to walk through the doors carried a small suitcase...

and a fading bruise on her cheek.

I greeted her personally.

"You don't have to be afraid anymore."

She cried as I embraced her.

In that moment...

I realized something.

The greatest victory isn't watching cruel people lose everything.

It's making sure the next victim never has to face them alone.

As for Adrian...

Years later, people barely remembered his family's wealth.

But everyone remembered the lesson.

Fortunes can be rebuilt.

Reputations can heal.

A broken business can recover.

But the moment someone raises a hand against the person they promised to love...

May you like

They may lose everything that truly matters.

THE END
