CHAPTER 3: THE LAST CHOICE

Chaos consumed Aurelia.

The dark creatures attacked from every direction.

Crystal towers collapsed.

Fire spread across the city.

Warriors fought desperately.

But the enemy never stopped coming.

Elena ran through the streets carrying her children.

She wasn't a queen.

She wasn't a hero.

She was only a mother.

Yet everyone followed her.

Because the babies were the key to everything.

At the center of the city stood an enormous crystal throne.

The elegant woman led Elena there.

"The throne will protect them."

Before they could reach it, darkness gathered inside the chamber.

A figure emerged.

Tall.

Shadow-covered.

Eyes burning like red suns.

The Shadow King.

He looked at the babies and smiled.

"After a thousand years, I finally found you."

The children stared back.

Unafraid.

The Shadow King extended a hand.

"Give them to me."

Elena tightened her grip.

"Never."

"You cannot stop destiny."

"No," Elena said. "But I can protect my children."

The Shadow King laughed.

The throne room shook.

His power was overwhelming.

Then the oldest baby reached toward Elena's face.

Tiny fingers touched her cheek.

A flood of memories entered her mind.

She saw ancient lives.

Ancient wars.

Ancient kings.

And a terrible truth.

The children were not destined to rule.

They were destined to unite.

Light and darkness.

Creation and destruction.

The war itself had been built on a lie.

Elena stepped between the Shadow King and the throne.

"You don't need to destroy each other."

The Shadow King froze.

The babies stretched out their hands.

Blue light filled the room.

The elegant woman gasped.

The soldiers lowered their weapons.

The light touched the Shadow King.

For the first time in a thousand years, tears appeared in his eyes.

The darkness surrounding him vanished.

Memories returned.

He remembered who he had once been.

Not a monster.

Not a tyrant.

But the brother of Aurelia's first queen.

The war had begun because of betrayal and fear.

Nothing more.

The children joined their hands together.

A pillar of light erupted into the sky.

Across the kingdom, weapons fell silent.

Creatures of darkness and warriors of light stopped fighting.

The ancient curse was broken.

The endless war ended.

At sunrise, the crystal city shone brighter than ever before.

The Shadow King laid down his crown.

The people of Aurelia celebrated throughout the kingdom.

And Elena?

She refused every title they offered.

No queen.

No ruler.

No goddess.

Only a mother.

Years later, the three children grew into wise leaders who united every kingdom above and below the earth.

Peace spread across lands that had known only conflict.

And whenever anyone asked how the age of war finally ended, the people of Aurelia always gave the same answer:

"It ended because one mother refused to sell her children."

THE END.
