In the freezing rain, a terrified young mother knelt in the mud

In the freezing rain, a terrified young mother knelt in the mud, clutching her three crying children as a luxurious black SUV pulled up beside her. A wealthy family stepped out silently, their expensive clothes untouched by the storm, while the exhausted woman begged for help with tears streaming down her face.

The elegant woman in a fur coat slowly leaned forward and coldly whispered, “We will help you... but only if you give us the children.”

Some bargains are born in darkness. Others are forged in the desperate heat of a mother’s struggle to survive.

Elena could barely breathe.

“What did you just say?” she gasped.

The woman did not blink. Her eyes looked like polished glass.

“The road is long, and you are failing,” the woman said, pointing toward the trembling bundles in Elena’s arms. “They won’t survive much longer. Give them to us, and they will live like kings.”

“Do you want to buy my soul?” Elena cried, her voice nearly lost in the wind.

A man in a perfectly tailored suit stepped forward. He did not look at Elena. His eyes remained fixed on the children.

“We are offering them a future,” he said coldly. “Not a sale. A transfer.”

“They are my blood!” Elena shouted, holding them even tighter.

The rain turned icy, clinging to her skin. She felt the feverish warmth of the youngest baby seeping through the blanket. Fear tore through her throat.

“Why them?” she pleaded. “Why my children?”

The woman reached out and touched the soaked cloth wrapped around the baby. She never stepped into the mud. Instead, she moved closer.

“Because they are not only yours,” she whispered, lowering her voice to a rhythmic murmur. “They are the return.”

Elena froze.

The crying suddenly stopped.

All three babies became completely silent at the same moment.

The woman smiled, but the smile never reached her eyes.

She slipped a hand into her coat and pulled out a heavy golden key that seemed to vibrate with a faint blue glow. Holding it in front of Elena, only inches from the smallest child’s pale hand, she whispered:
