Chapter 2: One Decision Changes Everything

The manager immediately panicked.

"Sir, please… I didn't know who she was."

The man shook his head.

"This isn't about knowing who my daughter is."

He pointed around the boutique.

"This is about character."

He walked slowly through the store.

"My daughter was terrified, crying on the floor, and every single person chose convenience over compassion."

Nobody could look at him anymore.

Then he stopped in front of Karen.

"You ignored company image to protect a child."

Karen nodded nervously.

"I couldn't leave her alone."

The man smiled for the first time.

"Good."

Then he faced the manager.

"As of this moment, you're terminated."

The manager's jaw dropped.

"Sir, please don't do this. I've worked here for twelve years."

He answered immediately.

"And Karen showed more leadership in two minutes than you've shown in twelve years."

The employees quietly exchanged shocked glances.

Then he surprised everyone.

He handed Karen a business card.

"I want you to become the new customer care director for every boutique we own nationwide."

Karen's eyes widened.

"Me?"

"Yes."

She looked completely stunned.

"But I don't have that experience."

He smiled.

"Skills can be taught."

Then he looked at his daughter.

"But kindness cannot."

His daughter nodded proudly.

"Papa, she deserves it."

The entire room erupted into emotional applause.

For the first time all day, Karen smiled.
