Part 2: The Trap Behind the Perfect Smile

Paola closed the door to Carmen's small room and looked around with disgust.

"So this is where she lives," she whispered.

From her designer handbag, she pulled out a velvet jewelry box. Inside was an antique diamond necklace worth hundreds of thousands of dollars—a treasured family heirloom that belonged to Alejandro's late wife, Sofía.

Paola smirked.

"If Alejandro thinks she's a thief, she'll be gone by tonight."

She hid the necklace beneath Carmen's mattress and quietly slipped away.

The next morning, chaos exploded throughout the mansion.

"The necklace is missing!" Paola screamed dramatically in the dining room.

Alejandro immediately stood up.

"What necklace?"

"Sofía's diamond necklace. The one she loved most."

The room fell silent.

That necklace was one of the few possessions Alejandro had kept untouched since his wife's death.

Security guards searched every room.

Every room except one.

Carmen's.

When they entered her quarters and lifted the mattress, the necklace appeared exactly where Paola had hidden it.

The guards stared.

Alejandro's face turned pale.

"Carmen..." he whispered.

The young woman looked completely shocked.

"I swear I didn't take it."

Paola crossed her arms.

"Of course she would say that."

Tears filled Carmen's eyes.

"Mr. Villarreal, I would never steal from your family."

But Alejandro was blinded by anger and grief.

"You betrayed my trust."

The words cut deeper than any knife.

The children, standing in the hallway, began crying.

"No!" Mateo shouted.

"Carmen didn't do it!" Diego screamed.

Leonardo ran forward and hugged Carmen's leg.

"Don't take her away."

But security escorted her out of the mansion.

As Carmen walked through the gates carrying a single suitcase, the triplets cried harder than they had cried in years.

For the first time, Alejandro felt something was terribly wrong.

That night the mansion felt empty.

The children refused dinner.

They refused to sleep.

They refused to speak to Paola.

Days passed.

Then something unexpected happened.

One of Alejandro's security technicians approached him nervously.

"Sir... I found something while reviewing archived camera footage."

Alejandro frowned.

"What is it?"

The technician swallowed.

"You need to see this."

On the screen appeared a recording from the hallway outside the staff quarters.

Alejandro watched.

And froze.

There was Paola.

Entering Carmen's room.

Holding the jewelry box.

Minutes later she emerged empty-handed.

Alejandro's blood turned cold.

The technician pressed another clip.

Paola was shown speaking secretly with a man in the garage.

The man handed her a folder.

Inside were documents.

Bank records.

Property transfers.

Plans.

The technician looked sick.

"Sir, we investigated further."

Alejandro's hands trembled.

"Tell me."

"The man isn't a business consultant."

"Who is he?"

"He's your biggest competitor."

Silence filled the office.

The truth hit Alejandro like a truck.

Paola wasn't just after his money.

She had been secretly feeding company information to his rivals for months.

And Carmen had been framed because she was the only person who truly cared about the children.

Alejandro stood up so quickly his chair crashed to the floor.

"Find Carmen."
