CHAPTER 1: THE TABLE OF SILENCE
The house had once been filled with laughter.
Now it echoed with silence.
Every night, three little girls sat at the end of the enormous dining table beneath a single hanging bulb. The mansion around them was filled with expensive furniture, priceless artwork, and luxury that most people could only dream about.
Yet the girls were hungry.
Not for food.
For love.

For attention.
For their father.
Seven-year-old triplets Emma, Lily, and Grace rested their heads on the cold wooden table, staring at the small bowl of soup that had been left for them hours ago.
Nobody had joined them for dinner.
Nobody ever did.
Their father, billionaire businessman Jonathan Hale, was always working.
Board meetings.
Business trips.
Investments.
Acquisitions.
He constantly told himself that everything he built was for his daughters.
But children don't count bank accounts.
They count bedtime stories.
They count hugs.
They count the empty chairs at dinner.
That night, as rain tapped softly against the windows, the girls made a secret promise.
"If Daddy doesn't want us anymore," Emma whispered, "we'll take care of each other."
Lily nodded.
Grace wiped away a tear.
The three sisters joined hands across the table.
And in the doorway behind them, unseen by the girls, stood Jonathan.
He had returned home unexpectedly after a canceled flight.
For the first time in years, he saw what his success had cost.
And the sight shattered him.
His daughters looked like abandoned children inside their own home.
