Chapter 3: The Heir's Final Stand
Three weeks later, the Hawthorne family gathered for an emergency meeting.
Lawyers filled the mansion library.
The atmosphere was tense.
Victor stood beside Ethan.

Across the room sat several angry relatives.
Among them was Sophia.
She had not forgiven Ethan for exposing her.
One of the lawyers cleared his throat.
"According to Alexander Hawthorne's will, all assets pass directly to his biological son."
The room exploded with protests.
"This is ridiculous!"
"He's just a child!"
"He was raised by servants!"
Victor slammed his hand onto the table.
Silence followed immediately.
The lawyer continued.
"Ethan Hawthorne is the legal heir."
Sophia suddenly stood.
"Then prove it."
Victor smiled coldly.
"Gladly."
A second investigator entered carrying new evidence.
Documents.
Photographs.
Bank records.
And one final revelation.
Alexander's "accident" had never been an accident.
Someone had tampered with his vehicle.
The investigation pointed toward a conspiracy involving two distant relatives who hoped to inherit the family fortune.
The room turned pale.
Police officers entered moments later.
The guilty relatives were arrested on the spot.
Sophia collapsed into her chair, horrified.
The truth had finally emerged.
Alexander had tried to protect his son by keeping Ethan's identity hidden.
After his death, Ethan's mother had entrusted the boy to Clara, the only person she believed could keep him safe.
And Clara had done exactly that.
She had protected him for years without expecting anything in return.
Victor turned toward her.
"You saved my nephew."
Clara shook her head.
"I just loved him."
Victor smiled.
"That's why you're family."
Months later, Hawthorne Mansion looked very different.
The greed and corruption that had poisoned the family were gone.
Clara became Ethan's official guardian.
Victor personally ensured she would never work as a servant again.
As for Ethan, he remained exactly the same fearless little boy.
One afternoon he stood in the marble hall where everything had begun.
Victor approached him.
"Do you know why everyone respects you now?"
Ethan thought for a moment.
"Because I told the truth?"
Victor smiled.
"Exactly."
The boy grinned proudly.
Outside, sunlight poured through the mansion windows.
For the first time in years, the Hawthorne family finally knew peace.
And it had all started because one brave little boy crossed his arms, stood his ground, and refused to let an innocent woman suffer.
The End.
