Chapter 4 - The Unbroken Circle

Six months later, the boardroom of Marrow Holdings was buzzing with quiet anxiety.
Senior executives sat around the massive mahogany conference table, murmuring nervously among themselves. For the past half-year, the legendary CEO had been... changing. He left meetings early. He worked from home two days a week. He had rejected a multi-billion-dollar acquisition in London simply because it required relocating his primary residence.
The heavy double doors swung open.
Tobias Marrow walked in, wearing a sharp charcoal suit, his silver-streaked hair neat, but carrying a small, colorful plastic dinosaur tucked securely into his suit jacket pocket.
“Gentlemen,” Tobias said, taking his seat at the head of the table. “Let’s begin. But keep it brief. I have to pick up my sons from preschool at three.”
The board members exchanged bewildered glances, but no one dared to object.
Down in the lobby, waiting in the sleek, marble-floored reception area, Elena sat on a velvet bench with Leo and Julian climbing over her lap, laughing as they played with a set of toy building blocks.
When the private elevator chime echoed through the lobby, both boys stopped and looked up.
Tobias stepped out of the elevator. The moment he saw them, the cold, impenetrable mask of the Manhattan titan completely dissolved, replaced by a wide, open smile that belonged only to them.
“Daddy!” Julian squealed, scrambling off the bench and toddling across the marble toward him as fast as his short legs could carry him.
Tobias dropped to his knees right there in the middle of the corporate lobby—in front of security guards, passing investors, and terrified interns—and scooped both of his sons into his arms, burying his face against their messy hair.
Elena walked up slowly, a warm, radiant smile on her face as she slipped her hand into Tobias’s free hand.
“You’re spoiling them,” she teased gently.
May you like
“Good,” Tobias murmured, looking up from his sons to meet her eyes, his heart entirely at peace for the first time in his life. “I have a lot of catching up to do.”
They walked out into the crisp autumn sunlight of Manhattan together—not as a billionaire and his ex-wife, but as a family that had finally found its way home through the dark.
