Chapter 2: The Woman Who Never Stopped Investigating
The next video began.
This one came from inside Matthew's private office.
Hidden camera footage.

Date after date.
Month after month.
Matthew and Celeste meeting in secret.
Kissing.
Laughing.
Planning.
Stealing.
The crowd watched in horror.
One board member stood up.
"Those company accounts..."
Another executive recognized the documents.
"They transferred funds."
The screen zoomed in.
Millions of dollars.
Moved through shell companies.
Luxury accounts.
Foreign investments.
Properties purchased under fake names.
All connected to Matthew and Celeste.
Matthew lunged toward the A/V booth.
Security stopped him.
"Get off me!"
But nobody cared anymore.
Because another truth was emerging.
The affair had begun years before Evelyn lost her eyesight.
Years.
While she was still married.
While she was building the company.
While she trusted both of them.
Celeste suddenly screamed.
"You have no proof I knew about any of this!"
Evelyn looked calmly toward the final screen.
The room fell silent.
A recording started.
Celeste's own voice filled the estate.
"Once she's blind, she'll never know what we're doing."
Every guest froze.
Celeste's knees nearly buckled.
"And when she signs everything away," the recording continued, "we can finally get rid of her."
A horrified gasp swept through the audience.
Matthew stared at Celeste.
Even he hadn't known she recorded everything.
Or that Evelyn had obtained copies.
The woman they thought was helpless had spent months gathering evidence.
Waiting.
Planning.
Watching.
And now their empire was collapsing.
