Chapter 2: The Flight That Changed Everything
The next morning, Isabella packed two suitcases.
One for herself.
One for Sophie.
Mark watched from the doorway, confused.
“You're seriously overreacting because of an accident?”
Isabella zipped the suitcase without looking at him.
“No. I'm reacting because my daughter begged for help while all of you laughed.”
Clara scoffed.
“Oh, please. Kids get hurt.”
Isabella finally turned.
“No, Clara. Children get hurt. Families protect them.”
Nobody answered.
Two hours later, Isabella and Sophie boarded a plane to Paris.
The city where Isabella's father had built one of Europe's largest medical technology companies.
A fact she had never discussed with Mark's family because she wanted to be loved for who she was—not for her money.

As the plane climbed through the clouds, Sophie looked at her mother.
“Are we running away?”
Isabella squeezed her hand.
“No, sweetheart.”
A cold smile touched her lips.
“We're going somewhere they can never hurt us again.”
