Chapter 2: The Cameras Were Watching Me
The moment Elena lost consciousness, I ordered every security feed in the mansion pulled up.
Twenty-seven cameras.
Every hallway.
Every entrance.
Every room.
My security chief, Harris, worked silently beside me.
Then he froze.
"Sir... these aren't our servers."
I turned toward him.
"What do you mean?"
His fingers raced across the keyboard.
"The footage is being mirrored to an external network."
A cold sensation crawled down my spine.
Someone had been watching my house.
For months.
Maybe years.
Without my knowledge.
Harris traced the signal.
The registration records appeared on the screen.
The owner name made the room go silent.
Veronica Kane.
My fiancée.
The woman sleeping in my bed.

The woman planning my future.
Veronica stepped backward.
Her face remained calm, but her eyes betrayed panic for the first time.
"Adrian, this isn't what it looks like."
"No?"
I stared at the screen.
Then at her.
"Because it looks exactly like corporate espionage."
She opened her mouth.
Nothing came out.
At that exact moment, Elena woke up upstairs.
And whispered a name.
"Marcus."
Everything suddenly connected.
