Chapter 2: The First Counterattack

The next morning, Alejandro sat alone in his office.

For hours, he reviewed every document Elena had saved on her hidden phone.

The deeper he dug, the uglier the truth became.

His forged signatures appeared on property transfers.

Company accounts had been emptied.

Loans had been taken out in his name.

And every trail led back to two people:

Ricardo.

And his own mother.

At noon, Doña Victoria hosted her elegant luncheon for investors.

She wore a cream-colored suit and pearls, smiling as if she owned the world.

Ricardo stood beside her, already acting like the future owner of the company.

Then the ballroom doors opened.

Alejandro walked in.

The room fell silent.

"Alejandro!" Victoria exclaimed. "You should be resting."

He ignored her.

Instead, he connected a flash drive to the large presentation screen.

The first document appeared.

Then another.

Then another.

Forged signatures.

Illegal transfers.

Hidden accounts.

The investors stared in disbelief.

Ricardo's smile vanished.

"That's a lie!" Ricardo shouted.

Alejandro calmly slid a folder across the table.

"Forensic verification reports."

The room erupted in whispers.

Victoria's face turned pale.

For the first time in years, she looked afraid.

But Alejandro wasn't finished.

He looked directly at Ricardo.

"You stole from my company."

Then he looked at his mother.

"And you helped him."

Security escorted both of them out while dozens of investors watched.

The humiliation had only begun.
