At my son’s wedding, my wife came home shaking and whispered that she had only fallen

At my son’s wedding, my wife came home shaking and whispered that she had only fallen. Two days later, the venue manager called and told me to come alone because they had rechecked the footage. When I saw what my son and his bride had done to her, the room went ice-cold. They had trapped her, sla//pped her, and sla//mmed he

r against the wall while snarling: ""You make our wedding look cheap and tacky!"" I didn't scream. I quietly changed my deadbolts and planned their total, brutal ruin...

My wife returned home on the night of our only son’s wedding, trembling in a torn evening gown, a dark, finger-shaped bruise blossoming on her arm.

""Ellen,"" I growled, blood rushing to my head.

""Who did this to you?""

She flinched violently, her eyes wide with terror.

""I... I just fell, Robert.""

""You fell and got grip marks on your arm?""

I reached for my phone, ready to call Michael—our son.

But Ellen lunged, frantically grabbing my sleeve with a pathetic, absolute maternal terror.

""Please, Robert! Don’t ruin his night. Don't do it!""

I swallowed my bile, staying up all night to ice her knee.

Until forty-eight hours later, when the estate manager called, his voice shaking:

""Mr. Whitaker, our tech just recovered a corrupted security video from the bridal corridor. I strongly advise you come down here to see this in person.""

""I’ll go get my wife,"" I said, standing up.

""No!"" he interjected sharply. ""Please, sir. Come alone.""

Sitting in his dark office, the silent footage shredded my heart.

On the screen, Ellen was frantically backing away. Cornering her was Michael—our own flesh and blood—and Cassandra, his new bride in white silk.

Cassandra aggressively delivered a vicious slap to my wife's face.

But what shattered my soul was Michael.

The boy she carried in her womb didn't protect her.

He lunged, seized his mother's bruised arm, and shoved her forcefully.

Ellen slammed into the heavy oak paneling, collapsing onto the floor.

Michael just stood there, watching his bride kick his mother’s fallen shoe aside like garbage, before they both walked away.

My overwhelming heartbreak had hardened into cold, deadly venom in my veins.

I looked up at the manager, my voice devoid of emotion:

""I need a raw copy of that file on a flash drive. Now.""

They thought they could break my wife and just casually walk away. I was going to use this very drive to strip away everything they had, and systematically dismantle their perfect new lives, piece by piece.
