Chapter 4 – The Truth Behind the Uniform

Richard forced a nervous smile.
"Well... Nora has always liked working with her hands."
Margaret's expression hardened.
"Is that honestly what you think she does?"
Richard hesitated.
"I mean... she's in the cleaning business."
Nora finally spoke.
"I am."
"And I'm proud of it."
Margaret nodded.
"As she should be."
She looked toward the guests.
"Blue Haven Services now manages more than forty luxury properties."
"They employ over four hundred people."
"They've won three industry awards for service excellence."
Several executives around the table exchanged surprised glances.
One hotel owner whispered,
"They're the company everyone's trying to hire."
Another quietly added,
"They're booked months in advance."
Lila slowly turned toward her sister.
"You... never told us."
Nora smiled gently.
"You never asked."
The words were soft.
Yet they echoed louder than any accusation.
Her mother lowered her eyes.
For years, they had measured success by titles, designer clothes, and social status.
They had never bothered to understand the work Nora actually did.
Margaret reached across the table and took Nora's hand.
"I've recommended your company to every hotel owner I know."
"I trust your name more than any advertisement."
Richard stared in disbelief.
"My daughter built... all of that?"

Nora answered honestly.
"With a lot of help from people who believed in me."
