Fetterman Slams Dems ‘Jim Crow 2.0’ Voter ID Lies As GOP Pushes SAVE Act

WASHINGTON D.C. — Senate Democrats are in a state of absolute shock after Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) once again broke ranks with his party, slamming the leadership's "Jim Crow 2.0" narrative regarding voter ID laws and signaling he is done with the radical rhetoric.

While Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and his caucus have aggressively labeled the Safeguarding American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act as a racist attempt to suppress votes, Fetterman went on Fox News to dismantle that talking point. Speaking to Kayleigh McEnany, the Pennsylvania Senator made it clear he refuses to engage in the "gross" name-calling tactics used by his colleagues.

"NOT A RADICAL IDEA"

"I would never refer to the SAVE Act as like Jim Crow 2.0 or some kind of mass conspiracy," Fetterman declared, directly undermining Schumer. "I don’t call people names or imply that it’s something gross about the terrible history of Jim Crow."

Fetterman pointed to the undeniable reality that the vast majority of the country disagrees with the Democratic establishment on this issue. "84% of Americans have no problem with presenting IDs to vote," Fetterman noted. "So it’s not like a radical idea... there already are many states that show basic IDs."

His comments mark a significant cultural shift, as he acknowledges that demanding election integrity is reasonable, not racist.

GOP MOMENTUM AND THE FILIBUSTER

The SAVE Act, which requires proof of citizenship to register to vote and mandates the removal of non-citizens from voter rolls, passed the House earlier this week. Momentum is building in the Senate, with moderate Republican Susan Collins (R-Maine) becoming the 50th member to back the legislation.

However, Democrats are using the filibuster to block the bill. In response, President Donald Trump is calling for the return of the "standing filibuster"—a grueling procedure that would force Democrats to physically hold the floor and speak for hours to block the bill, rather than the current "silent" version that allows them to kill legislation from the comfort of their offices.

"America’s elections are rigged, stolen, and a laughingstock all over the world," Trump wrote on Truth Social. "We are either going to fix them, or we won’t have a country any longer." Senate Majority Leader John Thune confirmed the GOP is weighing the tactic.

FETTERMAN ON THE BORDER

Fetterman also linked the election debate to the border crisis, taking a hardline stance that further alienates him from the progressive wing of his party. He emphasized that the Department of Homeland Security must be focused on "deporting those kinds of criminals wherever they are."

While Fetterman stopped short of fully endorsing the SAVE Act, his refusal to toe the party line on "Jim Crow" lies has left Democrats scrambling, as their narrative on voter ID collapses under bipartisan scrutiny.

Alleged Gang Member Arrested After Stealing Rifle From FBI Vehicle

MINNEAPOLIS, MN — In a direct challenge to local leadership and "weak-on-crime" policies, federal authorities have announced the arrest of a high-ranking gang member who brazenly targeted federal law enforcement during recent civil unrest. On Friday, a federal criminal complaint was filed against Raul Gutierrez, 33, for his role in a daring raid on an FBI vehicle where a service rifle and sensitive gear were stolen.

Gutierrez, a documented member of the Latin Kings gang with a history of fentanyl and methamphetamine trafficking, was apprehended following a multi-agency surveillance operation. The arrest marks a major victory for the Trump administration’s expanded federal task forces, which have been deployed to Minneapolis to restore order amid ongoing political and social friction.

The Theft of the Colt M16A1

The incident occurred on January 14, as FBI personnel were providing support to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in North Minneapolis. During a chaotic confrontation involving a "use of force" arrest attempt, federal agents were forced to temporarily abandon their unmarked vehicles to ensure public safety. It was during this window that the crowd turned predatory:

  • The Theft: Surveillance and open-source videos captured Gutierrez removing a Colt M16A1 rifle and related tactical accessories from an FBI vehicle.

  • The Suspect: The DEA identified Gutierrez as a "violent criminal" known for pushing poisons into the community through large-scale drug distribution.

U.S. Attorney Daniel Rosen did not mince words, pinning the blame on local officials: “This incident is an indictment of the weak-on-crime policies promoted by the Mayor and Governor. Despite the incitement of violence against federal law enforcement by local officials, this office and the DOJ will always put the safety of Americans first.”

Kristi Noem and the DHS Standoff

The arrest comes as Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem signals a zero-tolerance policy toward those disrupting federal operations. The surge in ICE and FBI activity follows the January 7 killing of Renée Good, an event that has ignited protests across the state.

Noem indicated that further arrests are "imminent" in connection with a protest at a St. Paul church, where demonstrators allegedly disrupted services to target a pastor cooperating with federal immigration authorities. "There is a clear, bright line between peaceful protest and lawless destruction," stated Acting Special Agent in Charge Jarrad Smith.

“Gutierrez is a danger to the community,” Agent Smith added. “The FBI will never tolerate interference in law enforcement activities. Those engaging in violent and destructive behavior will be identified and will face justice.”

Political Theater or Essential Oversight?

The debate over federal intervention has exposed a raw nerve in Minnesota. While local activists call the federal presence "terrorizing," recent polling suggests that communities plagued by gang violence and fentanyl overdoses are increasingly supportive of the administration's "Operation Metro Surge."

As winter storms batter the Midwest and global tensions rise, the standoff in Minneapolis remains a central flashpoint heading into the 2026 midterm cycle. Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) issued a stern warning Wednesday: “Anybody who undermines America’s safety for political points is shameful. We are taking our cities back.”
